Mrs. Boone has been with Montessori Centres since 1984. She has a B.A. in Spanish from Edgecliff College (now Xavier University of Cincinnati). She worked for 10 years as a travel agent manager for the National Office of the AAU and the National Office of Amateur Track and Field. After her second child was born, she returned to Montessori Centres, the school her mother founded in 1966. She has worked as lead teacher in both the Pre/K and Primary class. Mrs. Boone attends many seminars to keep her Montessori training current and to keep Montessori Centres at the forefront of Montessori education.
Mrs. McShea is the lead teacher in the Primary class. She has a B.A. in Art, Art Education and Psychology from Carlow College in Pittsburgh, PA. She also has graduate credits in Child Development from the University of Pittsburgh, and an M.Ed in Elementary Education from Widener University in Chester, PA. Mrs. McShea received her Montessori training at Widener University in cooperation with London/St. Nicholas Institute where she received her 3-6, 6-9 and 9-12 certifications. She has been teaching the Montessori Method for over 16 years and we are honored to have her on our team.
Mrs. Seedorf is our teaching assistant in the Primary class. She has provided quality child care for over 25 years. While her 4 children were young she started a home day care, which she ran for about 10 years. Mrs. Seedorf has been trained in the Montessori Method and has been with our school since 1992. Two of her youngest children attended Montessori Centres during their pre/K years, which prompted her interest in the Montessori method.
Miss Lydia Seedorf
Miss Lydia is the lead teacher in our PreK classroom. She is a former student and before taking this position, she held a number of jobs at our school: classroom assistant, substitute teacher, summer camp counselor, aftercare provider, field trip coordinator, and cleaning crew. She also sponsored several very popular Parents’ Night Out programs independently. Miss Lydia has a B.A. from IUPUI and is currently in the process of obtaining her 3-6 Montessori certification.
Ms. Sue Grizzell
Ms. Grizzell is the teaching assistant in our PreK classroom. With several years experience as a classroom aide and several more as a classroom volunteer at a public Montessori school, Ms. Grizzell brings a wealth of experience with her. She has a B. A. in Theatre from the University of Kentucky and has a second career as a professional storyteller.
Mrs. Castleman became interested in the Montessori Method when looking for a preschool for her own children. That interest quickly gave way to fascination and fascination soon became passion. Mrs. Castleman has been working in the office since 2006. She holds a Bachelor’s degree from Indiana University and is responsible for communications with a focus on helping parents understand the Montessori Method.
